FEDERATION OF FREE TRADERS - Aka: FOFT (?) (?)

A Cheat For Extra Credits (Follow Instructions Below):

  1. Load the game and press F8, then NET to get access to the Network. Enter HELP and press RETURN, followed by your trading name. Then press 'Y' and make a note of the Code Sequence.

  2. Exit the NET by pressing 'Q', then enter QUIT followed by RETURN and hit BACKSPACE to exit the Station. Now locate a friendly ship and lock on.

  3. Press F8, then NET, followed by your code, then 'T'. If it`s a friendly ship, you`ll establish a transmission.

  4. Ask the trader if he is selling (be persistent!)

  5. When he offers you something, offer him one Credit, then LOGOFF.

  6. Hit 'T' again and ask if he has anything to trade. Once again, keep on persisting until he does, but don`t barter.

  7. When he has offered, hit any letter key until he asks you if he wants your goods or not.

  8. Now hit 'Y' and the transaction will be completed.

  9. Check your credits by hitting 'I' and SPACE to see what goods you have in the hold. If there are any problems, reestablish contact and go back to step 5.

  10. Repeat Step 5

  11. When you make your bid, make it high (5,000 credits).

  12. The trader will inform you that you do not have enough credits and Exit.

  13. Reestablish contact and ask if he wants to buy anything - but make sure that you DO have something!!!

  14. He`ll ask for confirmation, so just hit 'Y'.

  15. When he aske how much, say 10 credits.

  16. When the transaction is complete, check your inventory - especially your credits!
One thing that can cause big problems for would-be-traders is buying up stock that you can`t shift. Here is a list of things to steer clear of:

The list of things below sell like hot-cakes:

For some safe trading, go into communications mode by pressing F1, then get a ship to pass the sights, press F8 and enter the NET as usual. Now press 'T' followed by RETURN.
Now, instead of chatting to the alien as usual, just keep hitting RETURN until he replies. When he does, he might have something to sell or otherwise will ask you if you have anyhthing to trade. If he ignores you and logs off, just get into the NET again and repeat the process until he loosens up. This provides you with an easy to trade Black Market, as you don`t have to work out anything to type in.

Advancement in rank has nothing to do with the amount of credits to your name. It is releated to the number of missions you complete and ships destroyed. The only way to earn a lot of credits is to haggle on the trade- net. By staying in the space station on the net, and trading in guns, food and gold, you will quickly build a fortune. Travelling to space stations requires you to jump until you cannot get any further.
